Key Botanical Characters Rhizome
creeping, thick, fleshy, glabrous. Petiole pale brown at base, greenish
above. Leaves palmately pinnate, ternately divided in three principal
divisions, again forked or pinnate. Fertile segments arising from the base of
the sterile leaves with stalk. Sporangia borne superficially on the spike on
peltate sporangiophores.
