Key botanical characters:

Shrubs. Leaves 4-8 x 1.5-2.5 cm, oblong-ovate or lanceolate, acute-acuminate at apex, subacute to obtuse at base, somewhat oblique, crenate-serrate on margins; petioles 0.6-0.8 cm long. Inflorescence axillary umbels; peduncle to 1 cm long; pedicels 0.6-0.8 cm long. Flowers 0.6-0.7 cm across. Calyx lobes 5, minute. Petals 5, 0.3-0.4 cm, orbicular, greenish yellow. Disc intrastaminal. Stamens 3, inserted on rim of disc; filaments 0.15 cm long. Ovary 0.1 cm, ovoid, 3-celled; ovules 2 or more per cell. Berry globose, 0.7-1 cm diam.
