Annual erect herbs; stem 4-angular, flaccid, sparsely pubescent. Leaves 3-11 x 3-9 cm, broadly ovate,base cordate, margins broadly dentate, apex acute, sparsely pubescent; petioles 3-8 cm long. Inflorescence terminal cymose panicles, 7-23 cm long. Calyx 2-3 mm long, 2-lipped, campanulate. Corolla purplish; tube c. 2 mm long, slender, inflated above; lower lip small, obtuse, upper lip elongate. Fruiting calyx accrescent, upper lobe foliaceous, obtuse. Nutlets 4, oblong, smooth.
