Botanical Characters :
Trunk 1-2 m long, bearing closely set
leaf bases, scales densely covering the apex of the trunk, bases of petiole swollen,
petiole tufted, crown of leaves at
the apex, streaks distributed all over the surfaces of petiole and rachis. Leaves bipinnate, dark green
when fresh, brown when dry. Primary
and secondary leaflets present, margins usually lobed, lobes about 10 pairs. Sori median on the veins, rounded,
forming two zigzag rows below leaf margins.
