Uses
:
astringent, aphrodisiac, laxative and bitter properties. The aerial parts are used in treating haemorrhoids, swellings, rheumatic affections and urinary infections.    
Key botanical characters:
Trailing herbs with long slender branches and thick root-stock. Leaves alternate, simple, , linear-lanceolate, base auricled and toothed, apex acute, mucronate, sessile to subsessile. Flowers axillary few-flowered cymes, sometimes solitary; Sepals lanceolate, acuminate. Corolla campanulate, cream coloured or yellow with a purplish eye at centre;,subentire. Stamens 5. Ovary 2-celled; stigma 2-lobed. Capsules 5-8 mm across, subglobose; seeds 4, glabrous, brown.
