Key Botanical Characters:
Annuals or perennials, 1.5 m high; stems terete. Leaves cuneate at base, 5 x 3 cm, usually clustered. Heads 3 x 3 mm, globose, in terminal narrow leafy panicles; bracts 2-3 mm long, ovate, obtuse. Inner few flowers bisexual; corolla 2 mm long, tubular; lobes acute; anthers obtuse at base. Achenes 1 mm long, ellipsoid, faintly striate; yellowish brown.
