Uses
:
Plant possess anti cancerous property. Seeds: Cures diseases caused by roundworms and threadworms, coughs, flatulence, intestinal colic, dysuria, leucoderma, psoriasis and other chronic skin-diseases. The seeds are made into a paste with lime juice and used for destroying pediculi.
Key botanical characters: 
Annual or perennial herbs, stem ribbed, smooth or puberulus. Leaves variable, ovate, acute at both ends, thinly hairy below; petiole slender. Heads in terminal corymbose cymes, peduncled; outer bracts minute, inner oblong, acute, cuspidate, hairy. Flowers 5-10, similar; corolla long, glabrous, bluish-purple. Achenes long, hairy.
