Uses
:
Root and leaves-used in intermittent fevers, biliousness, jaundice; also in rheumatic affections; bruised in salt water, used in skin diseases. A decoction of the root bark is given to women to control fits at the time of delivery.   

Key botanical characters :
Scandent shrubs, branchlets sparsely hairy. Leaves elliptic, lanceolate, apex acuminate, base rounded, thin coriaceous, lower surface brownish. Flowers solitary, leaf opposed; tomentose; sepals, broadly ovate, tomentose, basally connate; petals fleshy, , obovate, tomentose, apex incurved, golden-brown; anthers concealed by connectives; carpels numerous, oblong, tomentose.
