fevers, biliousness, jaundice; also in rheumatic affections; bruised in salt
water, used in skin diseases. A decoction of the root bark is given to women

hairy. Leaves elliptic, lanceolate, apex acuminate, base rounded, thin
coriaceous, lower surface brownish. Flowers solitary, leaf opposed;
tomentose; sepals, broadly ovate, tomentose, basally connate; petals fleshy,
