Key Botanical Characters: 
 Procumbent herbs; rooting at lower nodes. Leaves sessile, linear or linear-lanceolate, base rounded, apex acute or acuminate; sheath to 1.2 cm long, margin ciliate. Flowers in terminal and axillary few-flowered, subglobose or subcorymbose panicles. Sepals 2 mm long, oblong, obtuse. Petals 2-2.5 mm long, oblong, acute, bluish-purple. Staminal filaments bearded; staminodes 3 with filaments bearded or not. Capsule globose,yellowish green; seeds 2- per locule, cuboid, deeply pitted.reticulate
