Key botanical
characters: Rhizome 4-5
x 3.5-4 cm, yellowish-grey inside, non-aromatic. Leafy shoots 70-100 cm tall.
Lamina 20-40 cm long, elliptic, acuminate, pubescent beneath. Inflorescence lateral,
15-18 cm long, appearing before the leaves. Coma bracts
bright pink. Fertile bract 5-5.5 x 5 cm, broadly ovate, tip rounded, lower
bracts green, upper green with pink tips. Flowers 4.5-5 cm long, almost equal
to or slightly smaller than the bracts, 3-4 in each bract. |
