Key Botanical Characters :
Stem cylindrical, fleshy, forking, repeatedly covered with
spine-like, dark green leaves. Terminal portion narrow with sporangia at base
of leaves. The fertile portion may be followed by vegetative region with
small roots at base (during monsoon season). This portion can be taken as a propagule for vegetative
propagation.
