Uses
:
Bark is used in the enlargement of liver, spleen and abdominal complaints and tumours. Seed oil is applied in sores and a liniment in rheumatism.
Key botanical characters: 
Evergreen trees, Leaves imparipinnate, alternate. Flowers -polygamodioecious, white; panicles, axillary, drooping; sepals 5, orbicular, thick; petals 3, white, orbicular; staminal tube long, globose; anthers 6, oblong, included; ovary  superior, ovoid, pubescent,ovules 2 in each cell; stigma 3-lobed, subsessile. Fruit a capsule, glabrous yellow or purplish; seeds 2 or 3, oblong, with a scarlet aril.
