Key
botanical characters: Large shrub or small tree; branchlets 4-angular; bark corky. Leaves
opposite, ovate-acuminate, 4.2-8.3x1.6-3.7 cm, shining above, pale beneath,
often with black dots, coriaceous, base rounded, apex acute; petiole 0.5-0.8
cm long; midrib distinct, secindary nerves very obscure. FLowers bright blue,
in penduncled cymes, from old leaf axils. Calyx tube pink, slightly
tubular-companulate; lobes rounded, spreading. Petals broadly ovate. Berry
globose, deep purple to black. |
