Key Botanical Characters :
Small floating aquatic herbs. Fronds pale green, solitary or cohering in groups of 2-5, asymmetric, 1 ovate to obovate or oblong, base obtuse or emarginate, apex obtuse or rounded; upper side flat or convex with or without an apical papilla, lower side flat; root solitary. Flowering cavity lateral; spathe open. Staminate flowers 2; anthers 2-thecous. Pistillate flower 1, lenticular, 1-seeded. Seeds minute, yellowish.
