Key botanical characters :
Erect shrubs with slender branches; spines slender, straight. Leaves lanceolate, acuminate; domatia glandular; petiole 3-6 mm long; stipule acuminate, villous within. Cymes short, sessile. Flowers shortly pedicelled; calyx tube nearly truncate; corolla tube globose, lobes lanceolate, spreading; anthers strongly cuspidate, hispid at tip. Style densely bearded at middle. Drupe globose, black.
