Tender shoot is rubbed on aching gums. Plant is boiled in oil which is applied to body to bring down fever.
Key Botanical Characters:
Annual herbs,  subglabrous or puberulent . Leaves simple, alternate, elliptic,  apex subacute, base narrowly cuneate; Flowers from the upper leaf axils; . Sepals 4, rarely 5, glabrous or puberulent. Petals yellow, elliptic emarginated. Stamens usually as many as the sepals, rarely more.Capsule thin walled, terete, pale brown readily and irregularly dehiscent;seeds in several rows in each locule, free, broadly ellipsoid, brown, with fine brown lines.
