below; petiole to 4 cm. Racemes terminal, to 16 cm; verticillasters to
6-flowered; peduncles puberulous; pedicels to 4 mm; bracts ovate-lanceolate, scarlet. Calyx broadly tubular; tube 8-nerved;
lobes ovate-acute. Corolla scarlet; tube 3 cm, compressed; upper lip erect, 2-fid at apex; lower lip shorter, 3-lobed. Stamens 2, exserted;
filaments 5 mm.
