Bark and heartwood are used for cough, skin diseases, diarrhoea, dysentery, flatulence, leprosy and erysipelas. Root, Bark and wood extract are used for leprosy, wounds and bronchial asthma
Key botanical characters : 



Smal tree with stem is dark brown  to black  Leaves bipinnate, alternate, spines slightly infra axillary, paired, lower side, Flowers pale yellow, sessile, in long solitary or in groups of 2-4 axillary spikes;; stigma terminal. Fruit a pod base into a, dehiscent; seeds 3-10, orbicular or ovate, flattened.
