Key Botanical Characters          

Rhizome erect or suberect, densely clothed by scales all over. Petiole purplish black. Leaves bipinnate to tripinnatifid. Petiole short, gradually reduced towards the tip into a lobed broad wing, leaflets shortly stalked. Both petiole and rachis clothed by small decidous scales similar to those on the rhizome. Stalk of the primary leaflets and both surfaces of leaflets also bear similar type of scales which are less distributed. Sori linear, formed on veins.
