Key
botanical characters: Rhizome
creeping, branched, yellow inside. Stem thick, hard and woody, green to
reddish-green, densely pubescent.
Leaves spirally arranged towards the tip of the stem, shortly
petioled, petiole c. 2 cm, densely pubescent; lamina green, thick,
leathery, 25-30 x 12-16 cm, upper surface tomentose, lower surface densely
pubescent. Inflorescence terminal,
globose, c. 6 x 4 cm, green. Bracts numerous. Flowers large, 7.5-8 cm,
longer than the bracts, yellow with purple lines. |
