Root: diuretic, anthelmintic and stimulant. Leaves: stomachic, deobstruent, antispasmodic, antiseptic and anodyne.
Key Botanical Characters:
Prostrate herbs, densely hispid. Leaves alternate, oblanceolate, irregularly pinnate-lobed, base auricled, sessile. Heads globose, axillary, solitary, pedunculate; bracts 2-3 seriate; oblong, obtuse, hairy; receptacle convex, naked. Outer few rows of flowers female; corolla slender, tubular, yellow. Inner flowers bisexual; corolla campanulate, 5-lobed; anthers obtuse at base. Achenes obovate, compressed, hispid along margins; pappus a fimbriate crown.
