Key botanical characters:  

 Large shrubs or small trees; branchlets quadrangular. Leaves simple, opposite, 22 x 7 cm, lanceolate, subsessile, glabrous; nerves and intramarginal veins prominent. Cymes 5-10 cm broad, terminal. Flowers few, 4 cm across; pedicels 1 cm long. Calyx 2.5 cm long, funnel-shaped; lobes 1 x 1 cm, orbicular. Petals orbicular,15 x15 mm, yellowish white; filaments 2.5 cm long, white. Berry 25 x 15 mm, ellipsoid, glabrous.
