Key botanical characters:

Rhizome 2.3–3.2 cm wide, creamy white internally, slightly aromatic. Leafy shoot 79–90 cm high, erect, robust. Leaves or petiolate; lamina 31–34 x 10.4–11 cm, elliptic, dark green above, pale green, glabrous on both sides; margin highly undulate, membranous. Inflorescence 6–8 cm long, eliiptic, dense, erect. Bracts 3.1–3.2 x 1–1.2 cm, elliptic, green, pale green towards base, glabrous, coriaceous, imbricate; cincinnus 1-flowered. Flower 13.4–14 cm long, white with red stamen, turn to pale yellow on second day, many flowers open at a time, ascending, fragrant.
